I LOVED this book. This was my first time reading anything from this author and it won't be my last. I had an idea of who committed the crime when I first started and was completely shocked by the answer. I probably should have heeded the title but was sure it was to throw you off, but it truly is always the husband (now which husband??). Like how I added that little piece to keep it suspenseful and spoiler free!!
In college, Kate was the rich girl who got anything and anyone that she wanted with the exception of her father's love. Aubrey, the girl on financial aid was at Kate's beck and call. She believed Kate to be her best friend and idol. Kate got them in to all the parties and in front of the hottest guys on campus. Jenny was the smart girl who made the best choices with her future in mind. She was the one there for Aubrey even though she never got the credit for being there. Despite their differences, they were friends and swore that they would always be there for each other.
But always doesn't always mean forever. It's been twenty years and things have changed. Kate married the guy who was always after her, Aubrey married a guy above her "status" and Jenny married the good guy next door. When Kate dies, a secret the three girls swore to keep between them comes back to potentially ruin the lives they've cultivated. It will also bring the question, did Aubrey marry her idol? Did Jenny finally get rid of Kate? Or is it truly always the husband?
